Youth Volunteer Corps Of Western Connecticut

Who We Are

The Youth Volunteer Corps of Western Connecticut's mission is to create and increase volunteer opportunities to enrich Western Connecticut's youth, address community needs and develop a lifetime commitment to service.

What We Do

The Youth Volunteer Corps of Western CT is a youth-driven volunteer program for young people ages 11-18. YVC engages young people in projects that are challenging, rewarding, and educational to serve the needs of the community and promote a lifetime ethic of service We know young people are busy these days, so the amount of time you spend as a YVC participant is up to you. We work on projects year round. You can join us for as many of them as you'd like. School-Year Component: During the school year, YVC participants from all over Western Connecticut work together on age-appropriate community service projects. You will learn about our communities biggest challenges and make a positive impact on them through after-school and weekend community service projects.
Summer Component: During the summer, YVC participants will work together in our Youth Volunteer Corps Summer of Service. This innovative summer program is an extension of the school year. The extended service projects, days or weeks long, will give you an opportunity to accomplish greater outcomes, reinforce teamwork and continue to develop an appreciation for diversity and civic responsibility.
